Songwriting Tip #2

Find a place where you can make the perfect composition.
I prefer quiet spaces, or at least places where no one is talking to me. My last 3 songs were written, while putting away laundry (alone, by myself, in my quiet room), in the grocery store (alone*, with no one yapping in my ear), and in my room (at midnight while everyone else was asleep -no noise).

But your style may be completely different. Some songwriters like looking out a window for inspiration.

Perhaps you like loud rooms filled with people so that you can feel the energy buzzing in the air and convey that to your music. Or maybe you prefer listening to favourite songs of yours at full blast while searching for inspiration.

Or possibly, you do what do those people in movies do and frolick around in a courtyard in a haze letting the music wash over you.

Whatever you do, be comfortable with your surroundings, and position yourself in an effective spot where your music flows like a stream.

And above all else,

Make the time spent composing songs, and the songs themselves,
 Priceless

*obviously I wasn't the only one in the store
