Hello mortals,
Today marks the second edition of my bi-weekly post: Weird Music - Can you do it too?
Every other Sunday I will choose a weird or unheard of type of music, from singing cats to playing music with egg-shells, and give you a brief how-to.
Without further adieu, introducing... *Drum roll* Jingles!
You all recognize this, right?
The End! You've just had a basic introduction to Jingle making!

Many people do not know, but jingles are actually a type of music. (Some people don’t even know they’re called jingles!) Here I will give you a short tutorial on how to make your own catchy jingle.
Step 1- As you all know, those catchy jingles at the end of commercials can get stuck in your head for hours. This is in fact their purpose. For you to create one, you first need to create a catchy tune. I recommend humming and playing around with some random tunes for a while -Around people you know and won’t think you’re crazy. Eventually (hopefully), one will stick. If you don't have that much time, take out a piano or keyboard (you can find apps or use them online), and play five random notes. After researching popular jingles for a while, I’ve come to notice that was their usual length.
Step 2- What are you making your jingle for? Try to make the jingle in some way reflect your message. It’s okay if they’re a bit playful, that’s one of the best ways to make your jingle funny and memorable. Once you’ve determined your general theme, move on to actually writing it.
Step 3- Make words! There isn’t any particular length that’s necessary, but if it is long you should probably make it rhyme. Use words that are easy to annunciate, and are short. Once again using McDonald's as an example, ‘I’m loving it’. It uses ‘I’m’ instead of ‘I am’, and ‘Loving’ can be easily shortened to ‘Lovin’ without losing its meaning.
